The Thomas J. Hosmanek Agency

Tom Hosmanek was appointed Agency Manager of the Illinois Northwest-Iowa Southeast Agency of Modern Woodmen on January 1, 1999. He previously served as a District Manager in the same agency for 15 years, and his District was regularly a leader among Modern Woodmen's 125 districts nationwide. The Hosmanek District set numerous national monthly and annual records, and won the prestigious District Development Award a record 5 times!

Thomas J. Hosmanek, FICF, CLU, joined Modern Woodmen as a District Representative in January, 1979, and qualified for the National Sales Achievement and National Quality Awards, as well as earning membership in Modern Woodmen's Century Club. Tom was appointed as a District Manager in September, 1984. He qualified for the District Manager Round Table in 1988 and 1989, and the District Manager Inner Circle from 1990-1998. He has qualified for the Agency Manager Round Table in 1999 and 2000, and, in its first year, his Agency was a top five finalist for Modern Woodmen's prestigious T.W. Cheney Award. In 2001, Tom qualified for membership in the Agency Manager Inner Circle.

Tom has been a consistent qualifier for Modern Woodmen's National Sales Conferences including those in Denver, Colorado; Hilton Head, SC; Montreal; Honolulu, Hawaii; Scottsdale, AZ; Kaanapali, (Maui) Hawaii (twice); Amsterdam, Netherlands; Dublin, Ireland; Orlando, FL; Nashville, TN (twice); and San Francisco. He has presented workshops and served on panels at a number of these conferences. Tom qualified for the Agency Manager conference at Mauna Lani Bay, Hawaii, in January, 2000, and in Tucson in January, 2001, also qualifying as one of three 4-Star Agencies in Modern Woodmen.

Hosmanek has completed Home Office agent and manager training schools, and has served on numerous Home Office advisory panels including the District Manager Advisory Panel, the District Manager Compensation Task Force, the Financial Guide Service Revision Committee, the Financial Security Presentation Design Committee, the Electronic Rate Book Committee, the Application Design Committee, and others.

He holds the Fraternal Insurance Counsellor (FIC) and Fraternal Insurance Counsellor Fellow (FICF) designations. He has taken and instructed Life Underwriters Training Council (LUTC) courses. Tom completed the Agency Managers Training Course (AMTC) in 1985, and has moderated the course 4 times in the Quad-Cities. He has served as a moderator for, and has attended, numerous Field Management Seminars (FMS) sponsored by the AMTC. He has also participated on the national level in the design and curriculum development for the AMTC and FMS courses.

Tom is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and he is currently enrolled in the Charterd Leadership Fellow (CLF) program of The American College. He currently holds Series 6, 63, and 26 NASD securities licenses, and is licensed in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. is a member of the Quad-Cities Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Hosmanek recently completed serving a three-year term on the Agency Manager Training Council (AMTC), a national organization overseeing training of managers, and is a member of its Curriculum and Credentials Committee.

Hosmanek is an active member of the Davenport Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and has served on the Board of Directors of both the Davenport and Rock Island County associations. He is also a member of the Iowa Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is a past president of the Quad-Cities General Agents and Managers Association as well as a long-time members of its Board of Directors, and is a member of GAMA International. Tom has also served as an officer of the Quad-Cities Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals.
